KENTFIELD — Girls junior volleyball dropped its first of three games this week, this time to Marin Catholic in Kentfield.

“We’re playing against a team that’s a lot bigger and more experienced,” Branson coach Lynn Stein said. “But I thought we played well.”

The 25-16, 25-14 loss, however, showed some promising signs. The team has developed blocking and attack techniques that paced Marin Catholic — skills that could play a big role in Wednesday’s home game against Novato.

“I am excited to play them,” Stein said. “I love weeks when we have two or three games, and I feel like we have a good chance of winning.”
