NOVATO — Continuing a win streak that began last week, Branson girls junior varsity volleyball defeated San Marin Friday, though it took three sets this time.

The team won the first set, 25-16, as it continues to improve communication, especially for its defense. But San Marin pushed ahead halfway through the second set, winning 25-20. Branson returned to coordinate its offense for the third set, clinching it 15-7.

“It took us a little while to get in our groove,” coach Lynn Stein said. “And then last set we were able to run a play that we’ve been working on.”

The team now has a three-game win streak. Tamalpais will test next week whether the team can keep that streak.

“They’re really competitive,” Stein added. “We’re definitely going to work on our defense.”
