At the end of every school year students look forward to receiving their yearbook, a roughly 200-page keepsake filled with hundreds of pictures and memories from the year.
The dedicated yearbook club works hard every year to ensure that the yearbook represents the whole student body and is not just a collection of photos, but also a reflection of the year’s highlights and Branson’s energetic community spirit.
“We start really early, so we start in the spring of the previous year,” said yearbook co-editor-in-chief Reese Furhman ‘25. “We do the whole layout. A lot of the work goes in the foresight for the theme, and then also, like, we have a lot of student photographers to help us to get pictures of all the events. And we have a lot of like contributors that often aren’t necessarily seen.”
The members of the yearbook club are committed to making sure the final product accurately showcases the school year and students’ memorable experiences.
“I think it’s really important because everyone gets represented in it in some way, and it really shows everyone’s unique experience, like the parts of the clubs they’re in,” said club member Francesca Kunney ‘27. “It really shows community spirit and how everyone is so involved.”
Especially for graduating seniors, the yearbook is a precious souvenir as it allows students to reflect on the year and their time spent at Branson.
“A yearbook is super crucial to remembering your high school experience,” Kunney said. “I think it functions as sort of a time capsule that you can always look back on throughout your life.”
Students can look forward to the highly anticipated distribution day of yearbooks at the end of the school year, on June 9.
“I think it’s the Day on the Green, which is the second to last day of school before graduation,” said Furhman.
Students who are interested in joining the yearbook club to leave a lasting mark on Branson’s history have opportunities to take photos, design pages and more.
“You have to be willing to come to clubs block and put in the work, but it’s a super fun club, and we’d love for people to get involved,” said Kunney.
