The Branson’s student-run Outdoor Club presents students with the opportunity to explore the amazing nature in the Bay Area while connecting students of different grades, friendship groups and genders.
Throughout the school year, club leaders Imogen Brown ’25, Mo Jacoby ’25, Charley Lightfoot ’25, Olivia Ritter ’26 and Charlotte Houser ’26 have planned many outdoor excursions, including swimming in the Fairfax Inkwells, hiking throughout Stinson and Point Reyes coastline and hanging out by beach bonfires. Their most recent outing was a 14-mile hike up to Alamere Falls.

“We started the Outdoor Club with the goal of bringing Branson kids into the outdoors,” Brown said. “A go-to [excursion] is a nice hike, we’ve done hikes at Rodeo [beach] to the sunset, hikes on Mount Tam.”
The Outdoor Club not only aims to urge exploration outside and throughout Marin, but also to create cross-grade and friend group friendships.
“It was the first time I befriended people older than me, and it was a really easy way to do it,” said Colette Winslow ’28, an active member of the Outdoor Club. “I gained connections [with upperclassmen] I never thought were possible. Just great vibes overall.”
Looking into the future, the Outdoor Club has multiple ideas for outings and excursions planned before the end of the year.
“We definitely want to [collaborate] with the Astronomy Club to do stargazing on Mount Tam,” Brown said. “You should come, it’s a great way to meet people and have a lot of fun!”
