With five new ninth-graders joining the Branson Bull Sharks, the swim team continues to grow.
Jude Fuchs ‘28 said, “I love being a Bull Shark because I’m part of a small community and I know the whole team.”
Caitlin McCrath ‘28 said, “The team is super fun and supportive. It’s a great atmosphere.”
With a small co-ed team dynamic, the swimmers have been able to connect.
Fuchs said, “Swim practice is very chill, and the team is supportive and super friendly.”
The team competed in MCALs a couple weeks ago, with many finalists from Branson.
“At meets, everyone cheers for each other, and it’s really fun to be a part of a small team,” said Fuchs.
McCrath described, “We go, ‘One, two, three … Bull Sharks!’”
Then, they clap above their heads, similar to a shark fin. This is initiated by the captains, Nate Johnson ’25 and McKenzie Kwei ‘25.
McCrath said, “Upperclassmen are super nice, and I love the captains”
With the season coming to an end, new members are encouraged to join the Bull Sharks next year.
“If you’re a strong athlete that wants to try something new and be brave, you should join,” said Fuchs.
Fuchs has been swimming for nine years, but McCrath had not had much swim experience.
“You can totally join at every level,” he said.
