In the Katherine Brown theater on Sept. 11, the Class of 2027 showed off an eclectic assortment of skills at the Junior Talent Show, an event for bonding and honoring the senior class.
Junior Talent Show (JTS) is an annual Branson tradition that encourages bonding in the Junior class and kicks off the seniors’ last year with a punch of fun.
“It was a little bit stressful because JTS got moved up this year to September 11th…. It usually is a lot later,” said Selah Brown ’27.
Brown MC’ed the event alongside juniors Paloma Vano-Rice ’27, Caroline Jordan ’27, and Christopher Poore ’27.
On her experience as an MC, “There was a lot of planning to do. There was a lot of forming the groups and making sure everyone had their acts together. But overall I would highly recommend,” said Brown.
Some highlights of the show were the game shows and dances.
“I really liked the chili pepper challenge, where they had to eat the hot chilies,” said Neyla Kaul ’28.
Two teams of Juniors had to answer Branson trivia questions, where a wrong answer meant the whole team had to eat a chili pepper that got increasingly spicy as the game progressed.
“I felt excited to watch all of the dances, especially because they were able to choreograph some of their own dances,” said Ella McCracken ’29, a dancer herself.
A fan-favorite: Groups of Juniors danced to upbeat songs like Party in the U.S.A.
“[My] favorite part was getting to bond with people that I didn’t really talk to much throughout my years at Branson. Especially being an MC, like the group of people that I had done it with, I wasn’t as close with, and then by the end of it, I ended up being pretty good friends with them,” said Brown.
