As the fall sports season comes to an end, the winter sports season is starting again. Girls’ and boys’ soccer and basketball held tryouts during the week of Nov. 3. Team rosters have been finalized, and practices have begun.
Members of all of the winter sports have expressed their excitement and anticipation for the upcoming season, with high-set goals and a championship-hungry mindset.
“Girls soccer is really excited for another great season,” said varsity soccer captain Charlotte Houser ‘25. “I think something that’s really cool about our team is how close and bonded we are. It’s really exciting to see everyone on our team come together and become one unit and get really good at working together.”
Looking back at last year, Houser touched on how the team is hoping to continue the momentum and strong culture built by last year’s seniors.
“I think last season, we had a lot of fun. I thought our seniors were really good at leading our team and keeping up positivity. I’m excited to keep that positivity going, and also I think we can go even further than we did last year,” Houser said.
Additionally, the boys varsity soccer team is looking forward to their season, with their sights set on an MCAL championship.
“Our goal for the season is definitely to win MCALs. We have a lot of good seniors this year, which is exciting,” said soccer player Sebby le Duc ‘28. “We worked really hard last year, so we are hoping to take that to the next level this season. We are going to do our best and we’re gonna win as a team.”
Girls varsity basketball, one of Branson’s growing programs, is hoping to establish itself as a dominant force in Marin County this season.
“The team is feeling great. We’re pumped. We’re starting to grow our program, so we are really excited,” said Juliette Caldwell-Little ‘28.
