The transition to daylight savings and winter has, to quote Ishmael in Herman Melville’s “Moby Dick,” caused a “damp drizzly November in my soul.” My savior has come in the form of music, specifically the sunny alternative rock of Dominic Fike. Fike released his 5th album, “Rocket,” in August, and its high energy bass lines and guitar riffs build off of the acoustic feel of his 3rd and 4th albums. The entirety of Fike’s discography can aid you through winter, though, so here are my favorite songs from each of his 5 albums.
“Don’t Forget About Me, Demos” (2018): “3 Nights,” “Westcoast Collective”
“What Could Possibly Go Wrong” (2020): “Wurli,” “Politics & Violence,” “Why”
“Sunburn” (2023): “Ant Pile,” “Think Fast,” “Sick,” “Pasture Child”
“14 minutes” (2024): “hi grace,” “misses,” “to say to say”
“Rocket” (2025): “Smile,” “One Glass,” “Quite the Opposite”
